Skoda is expanding its business to Australia - the first time the VW-owned Czech auto maker has taken its cars to the continent.

The Roomster and Octavia models, including their vRS versions, will be launched in October at the Australian International Motor Show 2007 in Sydney. Operations will begin at around 14 dealerships across the country.

Australia will become the fifth continent where Skoda sells its cars. At the same time, the country is rounding off the number of the brandīs markets to 100.

Skoda sold 311,062 cars worldwide over the first six months of 2007 - up 13.2% on 2006).
