Bentley hits the magic 200mph mark

New Contintental GT Speed isn't for wimps

1 August 2007 22:34 GMT / By Jonathan Goddard

Bentley has announced its first ever 200mph car.

The Continental GT Speed is the most powerful production Bentley ever. A potent addition to the company’s Continental series, the GT Speed gets a wider, lower air intake and more upright radiator grille that also provide increased airflow.

Its 600bhp (610PS) W12 engine develops 15% more torque and 9% more power than the standard Continental GT, while engine efficiency is optimised by the use of lower friction, lighter-weight components and a new engine management system.

All this gives a top speed of 202mph, 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.3 seconds, and a trouser-wetting motoring experience.
