It took weeks for a whole team of hackers to jailbreak the iPhone 3G, but it seems Google's Android platform isn't quite as robust as Apple's mobile OS.
The G1 has been jailbroken within 7 days of its launch, a team of hackers has announced on an Android developers' forum.
The team apparently exploited a loophole in its software.
The hack then allowed the team access to data on various parts of the phone, "which could allow them to install new programs, or even another operating system on the handset", says IT Pro Portal.
Plus the hackers also published what they had done so others could copy if they wanted to.
But they'll have to be fast as Google is taking action.
It said in a statement: "We’ve been notified of this issue and have developed a fix".
