Shazam launches Android app
Shazam has announced the launch of its mobile application for the Android platform, as Pocket-lint reported they would back in September.
The app allows users to discover music that - if they are States-side - can then immediately be purchased through the Amazon MP3 store and linked into MySpace.
Shazam allows anyone with a mobile phone to identify music by holding the phone towards an unknown song.
The Shazam technology recognises the song and provides the user with information about the track, artists and album.
When a Shazam/G1 user discovers a new song, they can choose to purchase the digital track from the Amazon MP3 store (US-only), "tag" a song to get more information about the artist, and be automatically connected to their MySpace page.
