Sony Ericsson has released its third quarter financial results - and has managed to break even - a better outcome than analysts expected.
The phone maker shipped 25.7 million units in the period with sales of 2,808 million euros - down from 3,108 million the same period last year.
The average selling price of a Sony Ericsson handset came out at 109 euros, down from 120 in Q3 2007.
Gross margin also decreased year-on-year due to "continued price pressure".
Overall the company recorded net loss of 25 million euros, compared with a profit of 267 million euros in the same period last year.
Sony Ericcson's best selling phone was the C902 Cyber-shot cameraphone, described as "selling well" although the company notes it has "strong competition ... particularly in Europe".
