"Sources involved in the project" have leaked the news that Nokia going to launch a new worldwide music download service, as well as some shiny new music phones, at the Ministry of Sound club in London on August 29th.

The new Nokia website will apparently let users download music from a library of one million tracks to their PCs and then transfer them to their Nokia phones, as well as other devices.

Nokia launched the musicrecommenders.com website late last year that recommends new music based on user's preferences, but apparently has not dabbled too far into the download music market for fear of angering mobile phone operators who offer such services.

"Fortune" states that Nokia is on a multimedia drive to up revenue in the face of a saturated mobile phone market, needing to look at other sources of income.

A Nokia own-brand music website has been talked up before and they recently purchased a media-sharing website Twango adding more credence to the move into media.

It's not clear what these new music phones will be - whether Nokia will offer new devices entirely or if this launch will see the rumoured iPhone-rivaling 8GB N95, of which a Nokia spokesperson recently told us "Not yet" when asked we asked if they had any news of the handset.
