Despite wider reports that the platform is not doing so well, John Lewis has announced that DAB radios are "flying off the shelves" with one DAB radio selling every minute.

According to the DRDB’s Digital Radio Development Bureau second quarter figures for 2008, DAB listening is up 34% year on year, with 27.3% of adults now having a DAB radio set at home.

And John Lewis predicts that internet-enabled DABs will make the push into the mainstream next year.

Yat Wong Jones, central buyer for audio at John Lewis says, "DAB enabled Internet radios are set to be big in 2009. They offer diverse music and news stations and are perfect for ex-pats living abroad, who want to listen to their favourites radio stations from home".
