American readers can now enjoy TiVO HD following its launch in the US. Similar to Sky+ here in the UK, TiVo allows users to record and pause live television.

The new HD offering will come with a HDMI socket and support up to 1080i as well as an array of other features like the ability to record one channel and watch another.

However, the company has failed to use the update to add multi-room viewing.

The new set-top box comes with a $300 price tag.
