Responding to a takedown notice from Hasbro, the rights holder to Scrabble in the US, the developers of the Scrabulous game have been forced to remove the application from Facebook.
According to reports, users who attempt to access the service on their Facebook account in the US and Canada are greeted with a note that reads:
"Scrabulous is disabled for US and Canadian users until further notice." Users can then click a link for "developments in this matter", which redirects to a form where concerned players can enter their email address for updates.
Hasbro finally sued the makers of the knock-off game last week after an official Scrabble application went live on the social networking site.
