MCV is predicting that Sony's PlayStation 3 console is going to be getting some extras to boost sales in the run up to Christmas.
The new features, which are expected to be announced at next month's Leipzig Games Convention, may also be offered in conjunction with a price cut.
None of the plans have been confirmed by Sony, but Europeans are reportedly due to be getting video-on-demand services and Freeview television features for the PS3 console.
MCV quote SCEE's CEO David Reeves when he claimed that Sony will let off the first of its peak season "fireworks" in Leipzig next month.
