Nintendo sets date for DS in UK

Nintendo has set the official price at £99 and the launch date for 11 March 2005 for the Nintendo DS in the UK.

The dual-screened handheld console will come bundled with a copy of Nintendo's wireless messaging software PictoChat and a demo of Metroid Prime: Hunters.

While there will only be 15 games available on launch day, Nintendo is promising a further 105 by the end of the year. Games will range in price from £19 to £29. The full list of launch titles is:

- Super Mario 64 DS
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour
- WarioWare Touched!
- Polarium
- Project Rub
- The URBZ: Sims in the City
- Pok?mon Dash
- Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits
- Spider-Man 2
- Rayman DS
- Asphalt Urban GT
- Sprung: The Dating Game
- Zoo Keeper
- Robots
- Ping Pals.

The wireless element of the DS is expected to be just the tip of the iceberg from handheld console. With rumours suggesting that Nintendo will offer an Xbox Live! Service on the console with downloadable content from certain wi-fi hotspots.
