We've seen some odd robotic animals in our time, but we think this is the first seal.

This particular robot is called Paro, and is actually a tool to help the elderly and infirm.

He is used in Japan as a form of therapy, allowing patients to "bond" with him apparently brightens their day and aids recovery.

Like similar robotics, Paro has sensors under his fur, can respond to human touch and is even capable of "learning" limited behaviors depending on how you react to his antics.
