Kensington has launched the FX500 Speaker to Go.

The claim is that this is a portable MP3 speaker is small enough to pack into your suitcase but "loud enough to sing along to on the beach". If you should so wish to, that is.

The FX500 Speaker to Go is compatible with all MP3 players and has a shock-absorbent case, which closes around the music device, a clever design which is certainly a selling point for the travel side of things.

The speaker is battery-operated and claims 10 hours of payback at high volumes.

A Kensington spokesperson said: "The lightweight protective case of the FX500 enables users to throw it in their beach bags and listen to it by the pool, outside their tent at a festival or trekking on their gap year".

"The built-in stand and easy access controls on the outside of the case, making it easy to use while keeping it protected from sand, sea water and sangria".

The FX500 Speaker to Go retails at £34.99 and is available now from various online retailers.
