Dell has launched a whole new brand of notebooks and desktops in the States.

Dell states that the new "Vostro" range has "a focus on professional design, quality and value".

The range it aimed at small business that have no full-time IT staff.

All Vostros will be shipped with no trialware (also known as "bloatware" to annoyed end-users) which slows down system set-up and can conflict with other software.

Adding to the "small business solution" Dell also introduced a new 19-inch widescreen display, a colour laser printer and mono multifunction laser printer.

The Vostro notebooks (1000, 1400, 1500 and 1700) range from 14.1 inchers to the 17-inch widescreen offering that comes complete with a numeric keypad and a choice of NVDIA graphics.

Depending on the model and what the customer wants to stump up for, the new notebooks have the options of wireless a/g/n Wi-Fi, Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, up to 4GB system memory, 8-1 media card reader, integrated Web cam, built-in mobile broadband and Bluetooth.

The Vostro 200 desktop is also a trialware-free zone and offers optional Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of 667MHz memory, up to 1TB of internal storage, dual monitor capability, up to 256MB PCIe x16 dedicated graphics card and access to USB ports through front panel.

As well as the hardware, Dell has introduced new services and support customised for small businesses.

Coming as standard on the Vostro range is easy installation, PC performance and health, and data back-up for the first year at no additional cost.

The Vostro systems are also backed by dedicated, small business-trained technicians who are focused exclusively on small business technology issues.

The cheapest Vostro notebook is from $449 and the 200 desktop is from $319.
