Panasonic will be launching some new digital cameras and high def video cameras on July 17 at a press event in New York. This much is revealed on the invitation that was sent out to relevant American journalists, but exactly what the cameras are, or how they will fit into Panasonic's
product range, remains to be seen.
Panasonic has admitted that it needs to add a comsumer focussed digital SLR to its range in order to compete with wallet-friendly offerings from Canon and Nikon, so the smart money will be on that being the big launch secret.
