Got a PC problem? Call a geek, sorry, technician

Comet has announced a nationwide roll out of its Comet on Call computer fixing service hoping to appeal to the 60% of UK homes without a computer repair or maintenance warranty.

The services offered by the new team of On Call peeps include installing a fully secure wireless network, troubleshooting slow-running computer systems, solving virus problems and setting up a new computer.

Prices obviously vary depending on the service you require, a quick glance at the price list shows that Wi-Fi set up would cost you around £80.

Your computer equipment doesn't have to have been purchased at Comet for you to use the services.

You can take advantage of qualified computer technicians (oo-er) either by calling the Comet on Call 7 days a week helpline on 08448 920 999, visiting a Comet store, or booking a visit from a Comet on Call technician online via the link below.

This new service is a direct competition to the existing Geek Squad and The Tech Guys offerings. Maybe they should have some kind of fix-off to see who's the best…
