LG Electronics has introduced the J10HD, a home cinema system with a hard disk drive, DVD player and a 2.1 sound system that adopts the same style as LG's designer phone, the Chocolate.Sharing the Chocolate's ultra glossy black finish and boasting ice white touch-sensitive buttons, the J10HD is being pitched at the style conscious consumer who wants a multifunctional home entertainment device in a slick package.
Chocolate-lovers can rip CDs to the J10HD's 80GB HDD, as well as play music via a USB or MP3 player and record radio programmes.
Movie-wise the DVD player supports DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DivX, WMA, VCD/SVCD and MPEG4 formats and there's one HDMI port.
Thanks to the J10HD's "Virtual Sound Matrix", LG claims the standard 2.1 system will sound like a 5.1 system. The two speakers offer 75 watts per channel and there is a 150 watt subwoofer, meaning a total power of 300 watts.
There are certainly more competent systems out there, but it's the gorgeous looks and wicked-cool touch controls that will sell this baby, and sell it will.
The J10HD will be available from July 2007, pricing to be confirmed.
