Freecom to launch "cheap" MusicPal internet radio
Freecom is launching an internet radio and MP3 streaming device with speaker for under £100, which the company claims is the cheapest of its type.
The MusicPal offers an Ethernet port, or for those who prefer a little less cable spaghetti, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi supporting WPA and WPA2 encryption, rather than just WEP.
The system gives you a three watt speaker but you can hook it up to a larger system while the tuning and dialing to find you internet radio stations options is taken care of by VTuner.
The MusicPal only supports MP3 and Wav audio streams, but a firmware update, due before Crimble, will add the missing link for WMA and AAC streams.
The MusicPal will be available exclusively from PC World.
