ALK Technologies has announced the European availability of CoPilot Live 7 GPS navigation for Windows Mobile phones
and PDAs from 22nd October 2007.
CoPilot Live 7 claims to "redefine" mobile satellite navigation with simple and intuitive menus, clearer 2D/3D map views, safety camera warnings and real time mobile internet services.
Providing full-featured voice-guided satellite navigation, CoPilot Live 7 claims to offer the same performance and ease of use as a dedicated or in-dash system.
CoPilot 7 offers redesigned destination entry with step-by-step address entry, finger-touch buttons and predictive address matching.
Frequently used features are quickly accessible such as changing the view, finding a detour or locating the nearest petrol station or car park.
CoPilot Live 7 incorporates the latest street mapping and points of interest from NAVTEQ with streets of Western Europe accurate down to house number and seven digit UK post code.
An all-new desktop management companion "CoPilot Central" is available that lets users download and manage extra maps, POIs and other content.
The mobile internet tie-up comes in via real-time information about the route. These "Navigation Based Services" include live traffic information via the TDS TMC network.
CoPilot Live 7 mobile navigation is available across Europe from 22nd October for Windows Mobile based smartphones and Pocket PCs, through O2, T-Mobile and The Carphone Warehouse.
