This had been rumoured for so long, and so extensively that no-one was surprised to see it make an appearance at the wider Nokia launch event today.

That, however, does not mean it was not a welcome appearance, after all an 8GB capacity is iPhone-matching and impressive.

The 8GB version keeps all the good stuff from Nokia's first gen "multimedia computer" such as 5-megapixel camera, built-in A-GPS, WLAN, HSDPA and an innovative 2-way slide, but now offers more capacity for your digital stuff.

The other key difference is a "new luminous" 2.8-inch QVGA display that will help with all that video watching, internet browsing or map viewing.

The N95 8GB will go on sale Q4.
