Apple updates Safari browser

Security fixes needed less than a week in

Just days after Apple released the beta for its internet browser Safari for Windows, the company has been forced to release a security update to fix issues and bugs in the software.

Version 3.0.1 for Windows is available via Software Update for windows as well as Apple's website.

Apple simply say that the new update includes the "Latest security updates".

Web users claim to have found several bugs in the first release including a series of security issues in the software. Apple has implied that the latest download fixes these problems.

The news comes as Apple celebrates more than 1 million copies of Safari for Windows have been downloaded in the first 48 hours since the free public beta was made available on Monday.

Safari 3 for Windows requires Windows XP or Windows Vista, a minimum of 256MB of memory and a system with at least a 500MHz Intel Pentium processor.
