Samsung has launched three new full HD 1080p LCD televisions in Korea that boast an amazing 17,000:1 contrast ratio.

Oviously there are different ways to measure contrast ratio, and we're not sure which method has been used here, but any which way you look at it, it's a wholly impressive figure.

The new "PAVV" series of HDTVs includes 40, 46 and 52 inchers.
