Previewed ages ago at CES, Yamaha has finally gotten round to announcing the launch of the NX-U10, although you won't see it in shops until nearer Christmas.

The stylish and compact bar shaped NX-U10 offers 20 watts of sound quality - a world's best.

Thanks to its breakthrough "Charged Capacitor Amplifier", Yamaha is able to pump out more than ten times the power than average USB speakers offer for a "superbly rich" sounding 2 x 10 watts.

Yamaha’s SR-Bass technology claims to reproduce the deepest bass ever from a slim 33mm body.

The speaker also offers on-the-go battery operation, connection to iPods or other MP3 devices via 3.5mm headphone jack and promises CD-quality music playback.

It should be priced at around £149.
