Sony reveals new VAIO CR-Series laptops

"For the MySpace generation"

Sony has officially unveiled the VAIO CR-Series laptops.

With bon mots like "street sass", "edgy chic" and "urban feel", and, yes, we even spotted "uber-hip" littering the press release, we think they're aiming this new series at the beautiful people.

These new notebooks have a lustrous coating, smoothed edge, "flashy" lighting effects and come in an array of dazzling colours; "Blazing Red", "Indigo Blue", "Pure White" and "Luxury Pink".

To complete the new line's fashion accessory status, Sony joined forces with Mandarina Duck to create a carrying case, mouse mat, mouse pouch and wallpaper in each of the four colour-ways.

So enough about the aesthetics, what's the story on the spec? Well, the information released was fairly lite when it comes to technical details.

The notebooks offer a 14.1-inch widescreen X-black LCD display, have Intel Centrino Duo processor technology and ATI Mobility Radeon graphics and runs Vista Premium.

You also get 160GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, built-in 1.3MP webcam, a/b/g wireless and Bluetooth.

The CR-Series will be from £999, in shops from mid-July. You can pre-order now via the link below.
