Onkyo launches a plethora of home cinema receivers
Seven new HD suited models to be introduced

Over the next two months Onkyo will launch seven new high quality home cinema receivers for the UK market, priced from £200 to £1400.
Claiming to be first to market with home cinema receivers suitable for next-generation high-definition disc-based media, such as Blu-ray and HD DVD, which feature high-definition lossless audio formats, the new units are certainly next-gen friendly.
Integrated onboard decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, TrueHD, DTS-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio will be featured on all models from £400 upwards, with the first, most affordable model in the range becoming available at the end of June.
All the new models will feature 1080p-compatible HDMI 1.3a inputs/outputs ("Pass-Through" type on entry-level models, repeater on models from £400 upwards) as well as Audyssey microphone-based auto set-up (Audyssey 2EQ on models up to £800 - Multi EQ XT auto-set-up thereafter).
The first three models to be released are as follows:
5.1-channel HT-R508 receiver (£200) - available now
A powerful 5 x 130 Watts A/V receiver which combines five channels of amplification, 5.1-channel processing for analogue and digital multi-channel audio and a comprehensive array of inputs and outputs including HDMI pass-through switching (two inputs and one output).
7.1-channel TX-SR505E receiver (£250) - available now
Putting out 7 x 130 Watts this receiver boasts two HDMI inputs and one output, Audyssey 2EQ calibration for easy set up, an advanced high-performance 32-bit DSP processor, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro-Logic II, DTS, DTS Neo 6 5.1, DTS 96/24 surround sound decoding.
TX-SR605 receiver (£400, pictured right) – available end of June
Offering 7 x 140 Watts of power, two HDMI v1.3a inputs as well as three component video, five S-Video, and five composite video inputs, Audyssey 2EQ automatic easy set up, Onkyo's new HDMI-based system control capability and will be the first receiver available in the UK to include decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master multi-channel audio formats from Blu-ray and HD DVD players.
