Mitsubishi launches two special edition versions of the Colt

The Mitsubishi Colt has gone all funky with the launch of two special edition Black Hawk models.

Both are based on three-door versions of Mitsubishi’s funky hatch, the distinctive Black Hawk styling provides two silver stripes running from front-to-back, over the centre of the bonnet, roof and tailgate, plus privacy-glass fitted to the side and rear windows.

The basic Colt Black Hawk features a nippy 1124cc three-cylinder, 12-valve, DOHC engine, which delivers 50mpg an insurance group rating of just 3E. It gets 16in alloys, surrounded by chunky low-profile 205/45 tyres.

The Black Hawk CZT is the thoroughbred, with a turbo-charged 1468cc unit that can crack open 62mph in just 7.2 seconds and deliver a top-speed of 132mph.

As well as featuring all of the equipment levels offered with the top of-the-range Colt: sports seats, rear tailgate spoiler, front fog lamps, sports grille, disc brakes all round and a six-speaker CD/radio with steering wheel remote controls, the Black Hawk CZT is also fitted with a set of 17in rims.

Just 400 Colt Black Hawks have been produced, with prices ranging from £8021 to £8616 for models fitted with air-con. The CZT version is priced at a rather hefty £13,026 but with only 200 made, that could be a decent investment.
