Lindy brings back the floppy drive
Lindy has launched an attempt to bring back the floppy disk with the launch of a USB floppy drive that will once again enable users to access 3.5-inch floppy disks on their PC or Mac.
Floppies tailed out a few years ago with hardly any PCs coming equipped with the device. Apple removed floppy disc drives when it introduced the iMac. But Lindy still sees the demand for floppy discs, even if it is like being presented with a music casette.
If you have a library of floppy discs from the years when they were the sole format to save files, then this will be handy to recapture old work, photos and memories.
The floppy disc drive costs £29.99 and is bus powered, so there's no need for a power supply, and it is compatible with Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista, Linux and Mac OS 8.6.
