Virgin Galactic and NASA join forces in space race

Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic has teamed up with NASA to attempt to make the average flight from London to New York take less than an hour.

In announcement will see the two companies collaborating in future manned space technology.

Virgin Galactic will be given access to NASA's Ames Research Centre in California as part of the agreement to develop travel opportunities including Virgin's sub-orbital project which involved flying from one earth-based city to another via space.

According to Virgin Galactic, the deal is a ringing acknowledgement for the emerging commercial manned space industry from the world’s premier space agency.

However the two companies fell short of suggesting when such a flight would be possible.

It might take some time, but we will keep you posted.
