It looks as though Vodafone has stuck its fingers into a lot of pies recently. Today it's released an announcement with Microsoft to say that they're working together to launch a co-branded, seamless Instant Messaging service for PC and mobile.
The service will provide "enhanced" IM communication; for example, you'll will be able to use your address book to see the online/offline status of your Messenger contacts and exchange messages when they're at the PC or using their mobiles.
Vodafone hasn't specified which mobiles will cater for the new service, but has said that it will include, of course, devices running Windows Mobile.
The announcement follows a deal signed in June 2005 between the two companies to connect their instant messaging services.
