Hellgate: London multiplayer to be fee-based

EA has announced that the online multiplayer aspect of its upcoming titles, Hellgate: London will be a subscription-based game.

According to Bill Roper, the CEO of developer Flagship Studios, talking to Shacknews, the multiplayer game will be based on MMOs, and include guilds, newly-added content, and raid-type gameplay.

The game will be based on players and gropus fighting their environment rather than each other, although player-versus-player will be available.

Roper also told the news aggregator that there will likely be a free trial available for players to get a taste of what they're missing if they don't sign up for the Multiplayer mode.

The game will be released in the summer, and is a role-playing game combined with first-person shooter-style action.
