Kia remodels the Picanto

Not-at-all groundbreaking facelift is probably a good thing

When is a facelift not a facelift? When Kia launches its new Picanto, natch.

Due for it’s world debut at the Barcelona motor show on June 7 (contain your excitement, please), the new Picanto does very little different to the old one. But seeing is the KP has always been a very useful little city car, that’s no bad thing.

A rounder nose and deeper rear bumper make the new model 40mm longer than its predecessor. Further changes in the Picanto’s looks are a result of all-new panels on the bonnet, front wings and front and rear bumpers. This new "rounded" theme is also reflected in the light clusters and newly designed grille, due to be introduced across the Kia range. There are also new colours from which to choose.

The upgraded interior comes in new colours, too and the boom box gets an upgrade.
