Apparently SanDisk's Sansa players in Europe have been on sale without the promised FM tuner functionality.
That's about to change, however, as SanDisk will offer two versions each of the Sansa e200 and c200 digital music player, one of each with and without an FM tuner.
The European models had had their FM tuner removed after taxes forced an increase cost on the company to include them.
However, because of what SanDisk calls “significant demand from the consumer", it's going to offer FM tuner-enabled players at a slightly higher price than its FM-disabled sibling.
The players both feature an expandable memory slot, long battery life, photo-viewing, and voice recording.
Without an FM tuner, the e250 2GB player retails for €111.24, while the top-of-the-line 8GB player, the e280, costs €196.80. With FM tuners, they cost €122.36 and €216.49 respectively.
