Palm Hawk UMPC rumours surface

More consumer devices coming over next 6 months

24 May 2007 12:00 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Palm maybe about to launch a new UMPC as early as next week as it tries to get back into the PDA market beyond its smartphone range - the Treo.

According to rumours online, the company will call the new device the Hawk after Jeff Hawkins, one of Palms founders.

No information has been leaked over whether or not the new device will run on the Window's operating system, Linux or another OS.

"I've heard that Palm will be launching a range of consumer devices over the next 6 months that will focus away from the Treo in its offering" an industry insider who didn't want to be credited told Pocket-lint.co.uk
