Morphy Richards launches a DRM radio

Morphy Richards have launched a new radio, perfect for any radiophiles (did we just make that up?) out there.

Offering not only FM reception, not only DAB reception, the new radio can also pick up DRM broadcasts.

DRM stands for Digital Radio Mondiale and is an MPEG4 digital transmission that operates on low frequencies and can therefore be broadcast over long distances.

DRM lets you listen to radio stations and programming from around the world, such as Radio Luxemburg, the BBC World Service and RTL France.

Previously the most usual way to pick up a DRM signal would be a DRM-capable receiver via your PC, but Morphy Richards have now created this standalone device.

As well as offering FM, DAB and DRM stations, you can also listen to MP3 tracks via the SD card slot or iPod/MP3 connection through the 4 watt output speakers.

Other features worth a quick mention are the two colour full graphic display, EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) for programmable recording and two alarm functions that give you the choice of waking to radio or buzzer.
