Dell has gone on video blog record to "confirm rumours" that they will be producing a convertible tablet PC later this year.

The video appears on the Direct2Dell blog, Dell's "online meeting place".

In the video Jeff Clarke, a senior vice president of the business product group, said he wants to "end speculation" and confirms the production of a tablet PC – a Latitude tablet PC for the education, healthcare and corporate market place in the short videocast.

Clarke descries it as an "exciting product" and goes onto to say Dell has done a lot of engineering to make it "one of the lightest weight" convertible tablets in the marketplace.

He also states it has an easy to use interface and boasts leadership technology.

Clarke ends the video with a particularly gung-ho "We're excited - and everybody - we're comin'".
