Vodafone has struck a deal with BT Wholesale to provide its customers with fixed-line broadband service.
The agreement means that Vodafone can offer bundled mobile phone and broadband service packages planned for a launch later this year, and jump on the “free” broadband bandwagon.
Both the Carphone Warehouse and Orange offer broadband service; O2 purchased Bulldog earlier this year with an eye to rolling out broadband packages for its mobile phone customers as well.
Chief Executive of Vodafone US, Nick Read, said, “Today’s announcement is a strategically important step in the evolution of Vodafone’s business in the UK. Choosing BT as our partner enables us to provide high-quality, fixed-line broadband services to customers quickly and cost-efficiently right across the UK, and this perfectly complement our national moble coverage and mobile broadband service”.
