Taiwanese vendor E-TEN is launching the Glofiish X500+ Pocket PC Phone in the UK in June. With pricing and exact availability yet to be confirmed we can tell you that this is aimed at those who, "don't yet need or have access to 3.5G connectivity".

Improvements on the previous X500 include a larger screen which now has a VGA display, an improved 2-megapixel auto-focus camera and Windows Mobile 6 in a package measuring 113.5 x 60.5 x 15.5mm, available in silver and black.

Particularly of interest to business users, E-TEN's suite of in-house developed software comes preloaded on the device, including the new "Namecard Manager".

Namecard Manager is designed to simplify the process of updating contacts on the X500+. With this new software all you need do is take a picture of a contact's business card on the built-in camera and then OCR technology converts it into your contacts list in just a few easy steps.

Also of note is that E-TEN is offering a free Windows Mobile 6 upgrade to all users of its X500 and M700 smartphones. The upgrade is available as a free download via the Glofiish website, link below.
