While we're not immune to novelty gadgets this football-shaped offering from Shiro looks decidedly impractical.

Measuring less than 5cm in diameter this is apparently designed to be attached to your keyring, although we're not sure that would do the OLED display much good in the long term.

It comes with either 256MB, 512MB or 1GB internal memory, an FM tuner and costs around $50.

Perfect to listen to your fave footie-themed playlist on. Let's see, "Fog on the Tyne" by Gazza, the "Anfield Rap" by the 1980s Liverpool squad, "Diamond Lights" by Hoddle and Waddle…

No, it’s a terrible idea.
