Bi-annual update includes Live Messenger

14 May 2007 10:57 GMT / By Chris Ford

All 360 fans out there will have probably had today’s date in their calendars for a while but today 10am GMT has seen the first of this years bi-annual Xbox 360 updates.

Included is support for Microsoft live Messenger which will mean that multi-tasking gamers will be able to chat while they play, listen to music or watch a program. And the genius is that the Messenger works across the Xbox divide to include PCs and mobiles.

There is also support for the USB keyboard, with the on-screen keyboard and text input device out this summer.

Also featured on the update are extra support for several media formats and notification of when achievements are unlocked.
