No availability or pricing information has been announced yet, but we do have a brief overview of what will be on offer with Tosh's new notebooks. The notebooks Satellite A200 range are touted as a 15.4-inch "versatile all-rounders" that will, "allow you to tackle your daily challenges with powerful processor performance, easy-to-use wireless connectivity".
Of the eight different models within the A200 range, the specifications vary but some featured highlights to demonstrate the top and bottom of the range read as follows:
At the lower end, the Satellite A200-1CR has an Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2080 (1MB Cache, 1.73GHz), a 120GB hard disk with a Intel GMA 900, up to 256 MB total available graphics memory, wireless LAN (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity whilst at the very tippity-top of the A200 series the Satellite A200-10X boasts the new Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology featuring Intel Core2 Duo Processor T5600 (2MB Cache, 1.83GHz), a 200GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 supporting TurboCache technology, 256MB dedicated VRAM (up to 527MB total available graphics memory using TurboCache technology with 2 GB system memory), DDR Video RAM and improved connectivity - wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g/Draft-n) and Bluetooth 2.0. All models have a DVD drive and 15.4-inch Toshiba TruBrite WXGA TFT display.
The Satellite P200 "17-inch personal entertainment center" offers a mobile gaming solution, a "riveting" movie-watching experience (surely that depends on the film), powerful processor performance, easy-to-use wireless connectivity, Windows Vista Home premium edition and built-in Toshiba webcam.
Again brief highlights - the P200-140 offers Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2080 (1MB Cache, 1.73GHz), a 200GB hard drive, Intel GMA 900, up to 256MB total available graphics memory, wireless LAN (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 and Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System with built-in stereo speakers, both models give you a 17-inch Toshiba TruBrite WXGA+ TFT display.
The P200-10C has the recently released Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology featuring Intel Core2 Duo Processor T7200 (4MB Cache, 2.0GHz) a whopping 250GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 supporting TurboCache technology, 256MB dedicated VRAM(up to 527MB total available graphics memory using TurboCache technology with 2 GB system memory), DDR Video RAM, wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g/Draft-n), Bluetooth 2.0 and Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System with built-in Harman Kardon stereo speakers.
Phew, depending on how your brain is wired, that spec-fest has either left you with glazed eyes or drool on your chin, but you've certainly got to think that with the choice available, and the bases covered here, there's a Toshiba Satellite model to suit everyone (cue cheesy music).
We will post pricing/dates as soon as we know more. Hardware, Laptops, Toshiba
