Google launches Arabic news service
Google has announced that it has expanded its Google News offering by launching its 36th service; Google News in Arabic.
Pulling sources from a number of different Arabic news sources available on the web the service targets the entire Arab region of the world rather than the standard system, which normally just targets editions to a specific region like a country.
Google says that "The result means that Arabic speakers from more than 20 countries have access to an especially wide variety of perspectives on the news being published in their language rather than region specific".
Arabic readers can visit the Google News homepage to see a compilation of links to top news headlines all in one view, look for news just in their favourite categories, or search within news stories for particular terms.
