HP has issued a firmware update for over 675,000 of its Photosmart R707 cameras world-wide because of safety concerns over its batteries.

Some non-rechargeable batteries can overheat when the camera is connected to an AC adapter or docking station. One report has been received of the camera catching fire.

Owners of the R707 can download the firmware update, which prevents the camera from attempting to charge non-rechargeable batteries, from HP's website.
