Spare a though for Eeyore and friends

Let's face it: it's tough being a donkey. They're hardly the most glamorous animal are they? And you can't help feeling that all the other animals are talking behind their backs and laughing.

On a more serious note, they are one of the most notoriously abused animals worldwide. Tethered to each other they are often seen trudging up and down beaches and tourist attractions in the most fearsome heat. They have a hard life.

So, we thought we'd feature this little site to highlight their plight and to mark today, the first day of Donkey Week.

The site tells you what this charitable organisation does for the humble equis asinus worldwide, and you can pick up some great donkey merchandise in the online shop.

You can even adopt a donkey. Assuming Madonna hasn't got there first, of course.
