Amid a host of online IPTV service launches like Joost, BBC's iPlayer and ITV's iTV in the last week, new research out today has found that users accessing content is on the rise.

Jumping on an IPTV bandwagon, Motorola questioned 2500 people across Europe and the UK to discover their online TV viewing habits.

The results? The French are the most enthusiastic with 45% accessing internet TV across the board.

BBC announced its iPlayer has been given the go-ahead, ITV said content is to be offered and Joost launched commercially after months of tests.

Motorola also looked into video calling habits and believe that by the Olympics in 2012, 45% will make calls via their TV.

The key feature that users are keen on, is the ability to pause, fast forward and rewind programmes to their liking.

"We are witnessing a nation of citizen schedulers who are in control of their entertainment, allowing them to watch what they want, how and when they want it", said Motorola.
