Altec Lansing has taken the humble speaker docking system and given it a video screen makeover with its latest model - the iMV712 audio/iPod dock. The new speaker system which is launching in the US later this year looks to take that step further away from the many docks on the market place to now include video, as part of Apple's new iPod.
Like a TV with boom box speakers at the side, the audio/video dock features an 8.5-inch LCD which is twice the size of the iPod display.
Speaker wise the system features two 3-inch drivers backed up by a 4-inch subwoofer and can work with other MP3 devices other than Apple's iconic music player.
Disappointingly the screen only plays video and no imaging during audio playback.
Altec Lansing say the new speaker set will retail for $350. No word on UK pricing as yet. Audio, iPod speakers, Altec Lansing, iPod, Photos
