Sling Media has finally sorted itself out and released a Mac friendly version of its SlingPlayer viewing application.Promised towards the end of 2006, the Windows only program went on sale nearly a year ago. The US received a Apple-friendly application by the autumn of 2006 and it was also launched on Windows Mobile for download.
Members of the 3 network can also access the software with it pre-installed on Symbian mobile phones.
SlingPlayer displays whatever video source the Slingbox TV-via-the-net box is tuned to: its own, integrated Freeview receiver, a connected Apple TV unit, DVD player, set-top box, or VCR. The software provides full control over the Slingbox from anywhere in the internet connected world.
We are yet to receive word on the HD formats. Software, SlingMedia, Apple
