Sling Media has finally sorted itself out and released a Mac friendly version of its SlingPlayer viewing application.

Promised towards the end of 2006, the Windows only program went on sale nearly a year ago. The US received a Apple-friendly application by the autumn of 2006 and it was also launched on Windows Mobile for download.

Members of the 3 network can also access the software with it pre-installed on Symbian mobile phones.

SlingPlayer displays whatever video source the Slingbox TV-via-the-net box is tuned to: its own, integrated Freeview receiver, a connected Apple TV unit, DVD player, set-top box, or VCR. The software provides full control over the Slingbox from anywhere in the internet connected world.

We are yet to receive word on the HD formats.
