Epson launch new all-in-one photo printer

Epson has launched the Epson Stylus Photo RX640, yet another all-in-one photo centre featuring printing, copying and scanning functionality.

The printer comes with an array of features including CD-R print, a 2.5-inch LCD preview monitor and a 3200dpi scanner with built-in transparency unit.
Like previous models from Epson, the printer comes with six individual ink cartridges so you only need to replace the cartridge you have used and borderless photos are created in less than a minute.

Also included is Epson's PhotoEnhance technology that automatically detects your image type and adjusts image brightness and contrast accordingly to ensure optimal quality prints.

For example, when an image is detected as “portrait”, PhotoEnhance will make the face brighter and the contrast softer. When the image is detected as “landscape”, the contrast is increased, accentuating detail and texture. So now you don't have to be an expert in software image manipulation to get the best out of your photos.

The 3200 x 6400 dpi MatrixCCD scanner allows you to capture images and an integrated transparency unit also allows you to scan and print directly from positive and negative film sources.

The Epson Stylus Photo RX640 will cost £229.00 when it goes on sale later this month.
