Orange PAYG customers to get overdraft facility

Reserve tank for emergency

30 April 2007 12:33 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Orange has said that it is offering the country's first "overdraft" service for Pay As You Go customers.

Called Reserve Tank, the new service offers Orange PAYG customers a £2.50 credit facility, allowing them to continue to make calls and send texts once their pre-paid credit has run out.

"Reserve Tank" is part of Orange’s new Speak Easy plan, which it says "simplifies PAYG" and offers the flat call rate of 15p a minute to call almost anyone on any network at any time.

Orange is also changing the way customers redeem Magic Numbers, which discounts calls to their most frequently-called contacts. Now Pay As You Go customers can nominate three numbers when they join Orange rather than just one. Calls to Magic Numbers cost 15p for a whole hour.
