iPod gets James Bond style jacket with built-in controls
Next time you reach into your jacket pocket it might be to change the track of your iPod rather than grabbing a pen with the development of a jacket that includes integrated controls for Apple iPods.
The first design that will be available is BlackCoat Work, a lightweight jacket made from water resistant stretch cotton. This Made for iPod jacket is scheduled to debut in March 2006 and will be priced at $179 USD.
The other designs include coats named Sport and Minimal, plus a further yet to be announced product. The price range for the line is from $149 to $1,000 USD.
Called ElekTex, the smart fibre is a unique five-layer laminate of electrically conductive materials that transforms fabric into an electronic touchpad. The technology replaces the hard touch pads, flexi-circuits and polymer switches.
ElekTex is lightweight, flexible, durable and washable.
The four designs will be available for sale from KOYONO between now and May 1, 2006.
