Storage comes small for recycling

Recycling becomes compact for the kitchen

25 April 2007 13:02 GMT / By Amber Maitland

The Ecopod Recycling System from Williams-Sonoma crushes 50 plastic and aluminum containers and stores them in a plastic pod for transfer to your recycling bin.

It looks ideal if you haven't got room in your kitchen to spin a whisk. The bottom of the Ecopod unit also contains separate pods for glass bottles, newspapers and other recyclables, and the manual crushing mechanism is operated by a foot pedal at the bottom.

It's made of stainless steel and plastic, and available in black or white, the Ecopod sells for $328.
